New Normal

February 3, 2015

Recently someone said I have my act together. Phew, only took two years to get the hang of this new normal – our family of five. The new normal, however, is nothing like the old normal. The new normal means I forget that there’s a half day of school…I won’t even mention the time I forgot Gabby at preschool all […]

Naps – friend or foe?

July 14, 2014

I have a love/hate relationship with naps. For as many reasons as I love them, almost every single one of those same reasons I hate. I am a strong believer that good sleep breeds good sleep. If Noah gets a good, solid nap, chances are that he’ll be sleepier for bedtime and have a better nights sleep. I don’t know […]

The results of a fun weekend

July 7, 2014

After a weekend full of… fireworks, parades, and first time sleepovers, the kids are down for the count!! Fevers, exhaustion and crabbiness has sunk in at monster sized quantities. Therefore, mom is not at her best (as pictured below)… Please someone send out a rescue party!!!

We’ve got doc on speed dial

April 16, 2014

I never want my kids to be sick. Least of all, I do not like my workout regimen being pushed aside for trips to the doctor (especially on the heels of over-eating at Passover seders). That all being said, there’s something so sweet about a sick little child that seems to revert back to their needy infancy ways. Suddenly my […]

Ode to the baby who never gets his naps

January 15, 2014

Why oh why is my baby always crabby??? It couldn’t be because his morning nap was stifled from preschool pickup?!?! It couldn’t be because his afternoon nap lasted a total of five minutes in the car ride over to kindergarten!!?? Why, please tell me, could such a beautiful, happy baby boy become a tyrant around 6pm?!?! The saga of the […]

Bedtime Agony

April 30, 2013

Bedtime used to be a science. Twenty minutes – pjs, teeth brushing, face washing, stories and sleep. Easy as that. Until now… Everyone who knows anything about rearing children knows that kids thrive on routine. If you have a series of activities that prepare them for the winding down that comes with bedtime, it will be a smooth transition to […]

Is my belly big enough to house three children?

April 16, 2013

Most mothers worry while they are pregnant. Have they felt the baby kick in awhile? Will everything come back alright from the test they took? How will the delivery go for both parties? In so many ways, pregnancy is one of the few times that you can really protect your children. You don’t have to worry as much about the […]

Glutton for Punishment?

February 28, 2013

At an overdue 2 month checkup yesterday, the doc told me that Noah isn’t gaining as he should. WHAT?!?! I almost lost it. Feel free to remind me that at this point “IT” has been long gone. And as much as I claim to have lost it on several occasions, I’m still getting up in the morning and charging through […]

Mama Living by Lindsay Moses

February 5, 2013

I’ll preface this by saying that I have never actually blogged before. The last time I came close to “blogging” was about 20 years ago in a Minnie Mouse diary, which I kept securely hidden under my pillow. Gone are the days of writing about my latest crush and how angry I am that my mother just dumped my messy […]

Can sleep become part of our routine??!!

January 28, 2013

It’s as if the youngest understands that in order to be in my family, he needs to live a scheduled life. Even at the tender age of almost six weeks, Noah seems to crave a schedule. And I’m extremely hungry for the structure myself, so it works out rather nicely. That is…until it doesn’t. The last two Saturdays, although we […]
