I am about to stand up in my 5th wedding, this one for my friend Katie.
Hanging out with Anna (the maid of honor, who is also single) we decided that being a Bridesmaid is really the best. Maybe even better than being the Bride (at least to single guys)!
1. You are all dressed up, hair done, makeup perfect. While we will not outshine Katie in any way, to all the single men at the party, we will look great.
2. We have no pressure, other than to make Katie happy
3. Free booze
4. Plus, bridesmaids are like the most popular girls at the wedding. I mean, we know the whole bridal party, we obviously are BFF with the bride, and we are like totally wearing the “in” outfit (aka the bridesmaids dresses, which by the way…are amazing.)
I am so looking forward to September, and I will update you along the way!

I'm a mother, wife, daughter, and friend. Until recently I was also an employee. Now that I'm a full time mom, I've decided to make my thoughts, concerns and feelings public.
For me, it depends on how the bride is. Standing up for a bridezilla is totally not fun! I have stood up in four weddings. Only one of the brides was a bridezilla, thank goodness! It is fun if the bride is laid back! You get to be part of all the fun–without the pressure of being the bride!
