I’m obsessed

Anyone who has ever read this blog has probably gathered that I’m infrequently a “blah” kinda person. It’s a good thing as much as it is a bad thing. When I have a feeling, its usually a strong feeling. When I like something, I really like it. When I dislike something…you get the picture. It allows for me to live life with a lot of enthusiasm. This is my long winded explanation for adding to my new favorite things…Shameless. So brace yourself for a lot of enthusiam 🙂

It started one evening at 8pm, I didn’t stop watching the show until 2am. Every night to follow I watched it with the same vigor until I was completely caught up. I don’t just like this show…I LOVE IT. I love it in the Sopranos, Big Love, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire sorta way. I do not love it in the Dawson’s Creek, Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl sorta way. Not that I don’t absolutely love the second list of shows, because I do, but I recognize that my passion for teenage silly drama doesn’t always trickle over.

First of all, the show takes place in Chicago. There is a thrill, not sure why, with seeing places that look familiar and hearing the names of things in your city. Secondly the characters are so perfectly casted. The performances are top notch and the emotions are so relatable even though the circumstances aren’t. Third of all, the stories are so utterly entertaining that I disappear into the show for the entire show which is an escape I don’t often get. And lastly, I find myself thinking about it and longing for it during the week. A sign I don’t just like a show but love it (although not an isolated feeling for just a quality show).

It wasn’t until someone this past weekend professed their same emotions to me that I realized that I’m allowed to say this show is UNBELIEVABLE…therefore making it completely acceptable to be one of My Favorite Things!
