I recently had the chance to review a product. A candle. What’s so special about a candle? I certainly wasn’t going to say no at the chance of potentially liking a product but I pondered how I was going to evaluate a candle when I wasn’t passionate about candles either way. It’s not that I don’t LIKE candles. Rather, I think candles are lovely. What would make a candle be a product I didn’t like? Hmmm…bad smell, composition of candle post lighting it, bad reaction around my children or pets, etc. So from that perspective, Lilypad Lights has a great product. The smell, I chose lavender, is amazing. It melts clean – the wax and wick have stayed nice and strong through several burnings. It’s made from 100% soy wax and wood wicks so it’s very environmentally friendly. All in all, I love the candle and highly recommend it.
What I like even more than the actual product is the creator. A mom from a Facebook group was petitioning bloggers to try her product. So while being a stay-at-home mom to two small children, she started up this venture. Marci is managing her family, a small business, and networking. You have to admire someone who is working hard to get their product out there, contribute to her family and does it all with professionalism (which she most definitely does!).
I think that it is our responsibility as a community to try and help support women who do things like this. It’s not easy! So…if you have someone you need to get a gift for (housewarming, hostess gift, birthday present, etc.) please think of treating them to a high quality, low cost, environmentally sound candle produced and marketed by a strong woman! Go Marci and Go Lilypad Lights!!!
